Johnson Doe and Meg Goodman were invited to speak to the children, teachers and parents at Austin Eco School (http://www.austin-ecoschool.org/) regarding the refugee cause and what they could do to help. Johnson spoke of his childhood in Liberia and shared pictures of his village. He spoke of his vision for starting Mutlicultural Refugee Coalition and how important it is to build a community of refugees to help support one another in their new city.
The children were interested and engaged and had great questions. Afterwards they gave us warm clothes and blankets they had been collecting for us to share with refugee children. A great afternoon. Thanks to Page for arranging this!
Austin Eco School will also be particapting as one of the non-profits in the First Night parade on New Years Eve along with MRC so come on out and support us if you can!
