MRC Gardening Opportunities

MRC is lining up some gardening opportunities for refugees this fall.  As an introduction and to see who is most interested in this opportunity, Dick Pierce of the Austin Permaculture and Citizen Gardening Group offered a hands- on demonstration gardening class on Saturday at East Side Cafe and Alamo Community Gardens.  This was enjoyed by 19 people ranging in age from 5 to 83 and from the countries of Bhutan, Burma, Liberia, Gabon, Iraq and Burundi.  Look for more posts as these gardening opportunities continue to develop.  We are grateful for Dick Pierce for his interest and energy on these efforts.
